Sherry is wearing his favourite jacket. I am smiling because he finally stopped chewing the furniture. We are both very proud of this milestone.

And a heap of cement.A stray dog, too weak to feed her seven babies, covered them in loose cement at a construction site while she went to search for food. Then it rained heavily. The cement set solid. One puppy did not survive. The six who did were rescued just in time by a kind college girl who got them to safety.

A rescued puppy. A meeting. An unmistakable decision.I didn't choose Sherry. He chose me.When I met the rescued litter, I had no plan to bring a dog home. But Sherry walked right up to me, sat down, and looked me directly in the eyes. He didn't approach anyone else. He had already decided. I just said yes. From that moment, my whole world had a wagging tail in it.

Eight years of corporate life.I walked away from all of it. For him.I had spent 8 years building a career that felt less and less like mine. Sherry changed that. He showed me what actually mattered. So I quit. I stayed home. I became self-employed. And I discovered I was capable of things I had never imagined, because I had a dog cheering me on every single day.
